ISO 14001

Concrete is awarded environmental certification according to the international ISO 14001 standard. On the basis of this certificate, all concrete elements made by Concrete International are granted class (tier-level) 4. In order to qualify for MAT5 credit points, 80% of the volume of each main component (foundation, facade, interior walls, ceilings, floors and supporting structure) must be certified by an internationally recognized environmental management system.
Using an environmental management system according to the ISO 14001 standard allows controlling and, if possible, mitigating the environmental risks of business. ISO 14001 certification is not generally required, but there are municipalities that request to provide an environmental permit. Larger companies, especially governments, frequently require ISO 14001 certification for procurement applications.
